Desperately seeking patterns! The posts in this section are from folks who are anxious to locate specific vintage sewing patterns. Some are looking for a complete, original vintage pattern to buy; others just need a piece or two (or even a copy) to fix up a damaged or incomplete pattern they already own. You may be able to help -- and even earn a Pattern Point or two in the process.

Haven't been here in while? The Post area gets such heavy usage that we've split the original one page into six separate pages. Here's what's where:

Pieces Needed - Scans, tracings, or photocopies of the needed pattern pieces will do just fine.
Donations Needed - Replacement requests where we need a donated original pattern to help (no copies).
Wanted to Buy - Posts for complete sewing patterns that someone wants to purchase (originals and/or reproductions).
Pattern Quests - Posts from people looking for a particular pattern, but we don't have the pattern number or a photo.
Still Hoping - Requests that have been open for a very long time (but we never give up).
Success Stories - some of the things we've been able to find -- with help from you!

Looking for something yourself? We're always happy to help (or try to, anyway). Be sure you use the correct form: there's one for replacement pieces and another for patterns to buy. This service is free, but posts are moderated.

Don't see your request? It probably means that we're waiting for you to provide a photo or more information. If you haven't heard from us, please follow the directions on the Contact Us page (to be sure you're not blocking our emails) and write us directly from your own email account.

Here's what YOU can do to help:

Report a sighting:
If you spot one of these patterns while surfing, copy and paste the URL into the appropriate box and send it to us. (It's most helpful if you use the web address that provides detailed pattern information.)
Volunteer a copy:
If the listing is marked Copy OK, volunteer to make a scan or copy of the needed pieces. (This option does not appear on all requests patterns.) You'll earn the number of Pattern Points indicated while making someone else very happy. Fill in your registered email address and we'll send you instructions. Not registered?
Donate the pattern:
If a needed pattern is just gathering dust in your sewing room, won't you donate it to Pattern Rescue? It'll get to the person who wants it, you'll get a bonus Pattern Point or two, and it's entirely possible that the result will be two complete patterns!
